Our best seller is probably imported Stella Artois in cans. Customers have learned to tell which is which but we try not to confuse by only stocking the imported. I believe that one can tell which beers are brewed under licence and certainly the imported ones always seem to sell better. Budweiser from Czechoslovakia is always in stock as is Leffe from Belgium. Tsingtau chinese beer is in when I can get it; it was a beer that, along with the home brew, kept me sane when I spent a couple of years west of Beijing. On the ale side there are about 30 different bottled beers to choose from. We usually have White Shield, Old Speckled Hen, Old Peculiar, and Timothy Taylors along with a range of the Marstons and Shepherd Neame beers. April 2006: The Badger "sett" is back: First Gold, Golden Glory, Golden Champion, Tanglefoot and, of course, Fursty Ferret. Having also spotted them at warehouse they may be a regular item. Fursty Ferret is welcomed back and a range of six beers from Joseph Holt (Manchester) arrived in July '06 these are proving very popular. The others vary depending on availability versus price. There can be wide fluctuations on the prices of these and I believe in trying to keep them below £1.50 a bottle and lower if possible. Lech from Poland is now a regular. With the increase in popularity of ciders we have added 6 different bottled ciders, including the swdish cider made from pears, to support Magners and Bulmers.
