The majority are supplied by Gordon and Macphails of Elgin and include some of their rare malts range. These are cask strength and aged around 20 years or more – Benromach, Rosebank, Bladnoch, Brora, Clynelish and St. Magdelene. We carry a number of the Glenmorangie wood finishes – sherry , madeira, port and burgundy – as well as double distilled Glenkinchie, Cragganmore and Dalwhinnie.
Mortlach 15 year old arrived recently and had to be tried straight away as the tasting notes had the juices flowing. I can safely say that it is an excellent whisky well worth trying. I think brandy is one of the few drinks I do not drink, or it doesn’t like me, but we do stock a range of cognacs. including XOs We also stock Akvavit, Gammel Dansk, Strega and other more obscure spirits and will do our best to get hold of any others you may desire but please give us plenty of warning as some deliveries require minimum quantities. Like wine I am always looking to try something new on the malt whiskey front and spend the run up the Christmas and birthdays dropping, not too subtle, hints about ones I haven’t tried yet; I tried to feign surprise at the Longmorn 25 year old I found under the tree last Christmas.
Scapa is not as well known as its more northern neighbour Highland Park but is one I highly recommend as is the Clynelish 14 year old.
